Support Services

The Pregnancy Loss Support Program offers Telephone Counseling, Support Groups, and Referrals to bereaved families.

Peer Counseling for Grieving Families After the Loss of a Baby

Pregnancy Loss Support Program is guided by a licensed social worker with extensive experience in pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss. Our professionally trained volunteers, all of whom have participated in our program following their own pregnancy losses, provide personal and prompt nationwide telephone counseling for men and women. Both male and female volunteers are available.

Support Groups for Bereaved Parents and Others Affected by a Pregnancy Loss

Bereaved parents in the New York metropolitan area may join our support groups after an initial screening call with a Pregnancy Loss Support Program professional. Our groups are facilitated by two trained volunteers who themselves have suffered a pregnancy loss. The same small group of participants gathers for six weekly evening meetings. At each meeting, a brief presentation is followed by an open discussion guided by the facilitators.

Help for Grandparents Struggling To Cope With the Loss of a Baby

Pregnancy loss can affect the whole family. Pregnancy Loss Support Program is available to support grandparents, as they too mourn following the loss of a grandchild. If you’ve lost a grandchild, a trained phone counselor can help you process your own feelings of loss and find ways to support your child or in-law in their own experience.
